Destination weddings in Mallorca typically plan a multi-day or long ‘wedding weekend’. Usually, destination weddings are so much more than the big day itself; the initial get-togethers, rehearsal dinners and post-wedding farewell brunches are very much part of the overall wedding agenda. Having a knowledgeable and local wedding planner to organise the ‘extended wedding’ is everything. It is our job and pleasure to ensure a smooth running of events, from beginning to end, with no uncomfortable spaces in between.
Many of our couples bring guests who wish to make the most of their Mallorca invitations, even outside of the wedding event line-up. Guests who like to enjoy a little city atmosphere, and as much of Palma de Mallorca as possible during their stay.
Providing a list of the very best experiences on offer and giving family, friends and other loved one’s quality recommendations of restaurants and places to visit is an ongoing request from most of our clients.
So, we decided to put together a list of all the spectacular fine-dining and gastronomical ‘must-visits’ in Palma to ensure the party doesn’t have to end, even after the extended celebration, allowing your guests to make the most out of their travel.
There are many, many restaurants, cafes, and bars in Palma. In fact, over the past 10 years, Palma de Mallorca has not only become an increasingly popular wedding destination but has also earned itself a valuable spot in city-break tourism. Much of this is due to the influx of an amazing food scene, which has undoubtedly attracted a more cultured, and ‘foodie lovers’ crowd.
So, let us look at our recommended spots, we are sure you and your wedding guests will not be disappointed!
3 Best Restaurants for Food Lovers
Sumaq Restaurant
No doubt, this is the absolute best Peruvian fusion food, and a restaurant of world class gastronomy. Owner and Head Chef, Irene Gutiérrez is an artist and a culinary queen. We are completely head-over-heels for all her dishes and the different culinary experiences on offer. Her open kitchen offers a very welcoming atmosphere, where Irene often comes out to greet and chat with her clients.
Our friends from Berlin regularly visit as a matter of tradition to see Irene (at least once) during their stay. Another client from Ecuador and her future husband told us “her (the brides) Mother makes the best ceviche in the world” – now he thinks Irene makes it better. Irene’s ceviche is collectively the best we have ever tasted!
Mar de Nudos
A luxurious experience directly on Palma’s (Harbour) waterfront, overlooking the historical central city cathedral. This fabulous open-air restaurant offers nothing short of fine-tuned Mediterranean cuisine and a choice of freshly made Japanese sushi. Both internally and externally boasts of chic décor and a modern, contemporary ambience. Mar de Nudos comes at an expense, but well worthwhile, sitting in front of prestigious yachts where everything from the staff, exquisite food presentation and the explosion of taste from their dishes is a divine experience.
De Tokio a Lima
Restaurant ‘De Tokio a Lima’ is situated in the beautiful Boutique Hotel, Can Alomar Luxury Boutique Hotel. This stunning restaurant is the perfect setting for a spot of Sunday lunch or after wandering the city streets of Palma de Mallorca and enjoying some retail therapy. Dining upstairs on the terrace overlooking the green leaf avenue provides nothing less than an atmospheric chic, city-sleek lifestyle set-up. The menu is perfectly light, healthy, and an incredibly delicious fusion of Japanese, Peruvian with Mediterranean influences that keep us returning again and again.
3 Best Restaurants for Style Lovers
El Camino
A fantastic new concept bar and restaurant offering a modern spin on the old authentic tapas and Spanish pintxos bars. You prop yourself up at the bar, and delight in the atmospheric and fast paced kitchen performing before your very eyes. The menu is led by David Taborda and owners Eddie and Samuel, presenting a spectacular variety of Mediterranean cuisine in the form of tapas, sharing plates and an ‘A la Carte’ menu, all created from local produce on the island.
El Camino also offers one quieter seated dining area, which is perfect for a romantic meal, an intimate rendezvous with a friend and even a small business meeting. But, be prepared, this fine restaurant does not take reservations. However, do not worry, even if you must wait for a private table, there is plenty of lively opportunity to enjoy the action from the bar in the meantime.
Tast Club
Tast Club is a great spot if you love a bustling atmosphere and some innovative décor! It is a fantastic place for a casual drink, enjoyment of its lively ambience and some delicious Pintxos bites. There are plenty of corners for dining and an incredibly stylish bar to get in the Mediterranean spirit. The typical Spanish menu is not overly extravagant, but well-worth a try. This place is gold for its stylish interiors and popularity.
Bahia Mediterraneo
Bahia Mediterraneo really is the place to be in Palma. This unique restaurant boasts of a 1930’s approach to its décor and furnishings. We just love their style and even their uniforms are representative of standing still in a former time. This restaurant has an amazing view overlooking Palma Bay, with white formal table settings and an amazing international menu and wine card which very much suits the environment. If you get the opportunity to spend time sitting at their night-lit bar with their gold palm-fringed chandeliers for an evening, ensure you are wearing your favourite cocktail dress and order an ‘Old Fashioned’, you’ll feel like a movie star in Hollywood.

The authenticity of their attentive team offers an excellent service, friendly customer care and passion behind their hospitality. There are plenty of mouth-watering dishes to choose from, each with fine attention to detail, tending loving care and a contemporary Mediterranean twist.
Quina Creu
Quina Creu restaurant and pintxo tapas bar is one of the most favoured restaurants among locals in Palma de Mallorca. The small, cosy, and retro styled outlet will have you roaming with your eyes around the eclectic mix of cool décor throughout much of your stay. Relax casually at the bar with a crisp glass of wine, enjoy an evening of tapas, group together with friends and indulge in an array of sharing plates, or go bold and tuck into one of their delicious main courses from their A la Carte or specials menu No complaints from us whatsoever – The ambience is great and the menu is quite simply superb!

Parada del Mar is a beachfront, authentic restaurant in which seafood and fresh fish takes on a whole new meaning. The local and authentic styled restaurant situated just opposite of the Kings Palace Marivent maintains a typical Spanish atmosphere, with a minimalist and traditional approach to décor, but truly offers the best fish in town. Guests arrive, enter the restaurant, head directly to the fishmonger counter, and choose what to eat. In the meantime, whilst the kitchen prepares your meal, take a seat, relish the view and sip on a refreshing beverage. Amazing!

3 Best Restaurants for Party Lovers
Patron Lunares
Patron Lunares is situated in Palma Old Town, Santa Catalina. This restaurant opened by Javier Bonet boasts of spectacular décor and interior design which perfectly blends art, antiques, and spectacular portraits of their family. This is the place where all those ‘party-goers’ begin their night out, especially over the course of the weekend where regular DJ’s play well into the late hours of the night. The food is astounding, and always has been since the very opening many years ago. A fantastic Spanish fusion with seasonal changes to their innovative menu that is incredibly reasonable in price for the level of quality on offer and the ingredients used.
49 Steps Bar & Grill
49 Steps Bar and Grill Restaurant is in the heart of the Port of Moll Vell with some amazing views over the Mediterranean Sea and the centre of Palma. A lively atmosphere with good music and exclusive cocktails that can be accompanied by any of their surprising and varied gastronomic dishes. The environment is loud, fast paced and incredibly trendy. Their gastronomy is dynamic, creative, and perfectly accompanies its fine lists of wines and specialist cocktails. An unforgettable night out and experience to remember.
3 Best Restaurants for Food Market Lovers
Food markets are a tradition and a modern commodity here in Mallorca. Santa Catalina Market is a great place to go buy some food and eat outdoors in a street food styled environment. The unique feature of this market is, if you wish to buy some fresh fish from one of the fishmonger stations and bring it to one of their bars, they will gladly cook it for you!
All around the market are super nice cafés to have breakfast or grab a little tapas or lunch. During the winter months, when tourism has died down, locals regularly meet up in the early afternoon to grab a light bite before heading to the day-clubs, and yes, in Mallorca you can go clubbing in the afternoon.
The other markets further down from Santa Catalina Market have plenty of different food stands, but are not for grocery shopping, which are filled with great spots to enjoy an authentic, local eatery experience whilst here in Mallorca including Palma Gastronomic Market located in Paseo Maritimo otherwise known as Mercat 1930, and Mercado Gastronomico in San Juan, Palma de Mallorca.
